Zion Lutheran Church and Cemetery

Zion Lutheran Church and Cemetery are
near Horsham, Saskatchewan in the R.M.
of Enterprise.  According to the Germans
from Russia Heritage Society the church
and cemetery were active from 1919 to
1950.

The sunflower motif on the tall white
headstone symbolizes devotion to God.
It's a symbol that isn't as common as one
might imagine in a Christian cemetery.

The Find A Grave website has a photo
of the church before the sides bowed
outwards and the roof collapsed.
See it here:

  1. This one I have seen before in photos and have always thought it was amazing. Wonderful photo. Another one I hope to see myself someday.

    1. Thanks, Jenn. It's very photogenic to say the least. There's another cemetery just half a mile down that road too.
