The stack, flue and stone foundations are
what remains of the Glass Brother's Smelter.
It is located a little west of Basin, Montana
and was established in 1903; the "Mining
Country" sign is on the outskirts of town.
Ore from the Helena-to-Butte mining area
was initially sent overseas for processing
until smelters like this were built locally.
