Saint Cunigundis Cemetery

This cemetery is situated two miles north of
the Saskatchewan/North Dakota border in
the former community of Marienthal.  It
was established well over a century ago by
Russian immigrants.

A church built in 1908 burned down in 1916
at which time a larger church was built that
served the community until 1962 when the
building was sold.  A farm house now sits
on the old church foundation.  When I was
there about a week ago I noticed a
"For Sale" sign on the house.

Thanks to the Find A Grave website for
valuable information about this cemetery.
Thanks as well to those who maintain
this remote but enchanting Roman
Catholic Cemetery.

Photographed on October 17, 2017.
