Ohio Buckeye

A young Ohio Buckeye Tree showing
some fall colour in Medicine Hat's
Hillside Cemetery.

They look quite exotic with their
palmate leaves but are very hardy
here in southeastern Alberta.  The
fruits are spiny capsules containing a
large seed or seeds as seen in the last
photo.  The fruits are also known as
horse chestnuts and are very poisonous.

Photographed on September 25, 2017.

    1. Thanks, Jenn. We don't have much red fall colour here so I had to take a few shots of this young show-off.
