Box Springs Cemetery

The Box Springs Cemetery sits in open pastureland some
miles north of Medicine Hat, Alberta.  There are two
known burials here, a mother and child, along with an
unidentified third grave.

The landowner said the former barbed wire fence was
difficult to maintain because of the grazing cattle
constantly rubbing against it.  Wanting to save and
protect the small cemetery, he decided on a more
permanent solution and constructed a steel pipe fence
to protect the unmarked graves.  What a kind and
thoughtful gesture.

Photographed on May 6, 2017.

  2. Nice of the landowner to do that. If I drove by there I wouldn't even know what it was, I am glad you visited it and took photos.

    1. I thought it was a very sweet thing for him to do. Thank you, Jenn. The location of this cemetery is obscure...so close yet so far, if you know what I mean. I'd like to see a sign placed at or near the site.
